Arroyo Seco Woodcraft is the work of artist Natalie Brejcha. Natalie creates one of a kind spoons, knives and kitchen wares in her studio in Pasadena, CA. Natalie studied fine art as part of her Masters Degree studies at California Institute of the Arts where she received her MFA studying modern classical music and viola performance. (her other job!) In fact it was as a young 20 year old undergraduate music student in her hometown of Kansas City that she met and apprenticed for a short time with a violin maker. It was during that time that Natalie found a love for wood, creating simple objects with her hands and appreciating the beauty in handcrafted objects. She never made a violin, but she did make a set of woodcarving knives that she still uses everyday and left inspired to continue creating.
